Happy Insta Girls: Halloween Hop

Hey there, how about some Halloween Inspiration today? You probably remember the Happy Insta Friends blog hops I have participated in the past. It’s one I particularly love because you get to actually send your cards and this time also a little Halloween treat to one of the participants opposed to „just“ make something fitting the theme. Sadly though, this is the last installment :( Blogs nowadays don’t seem to have much audience compared to Instagram and other social media outlets and while we blog hoppers know each other from Insta, we still haven’t found a better way to make this blog hop happen than on our actual blogs (ideas welcome!).

Anyway, here is the fabulous card and gift I received from Biggi.

The card is 3D with multiple layers and the treat she sent me is an amazing haunted house filled with candy.

You can even open the door and detach the roof - umh, hello!! How amazing is this? Thanks so much, Biggi 😘

The card I sent to our lovely blog hop coordinator Birka features a more scared than scary pumpkin and my treat to her was a mummy that hides a chocolate bar inside. For the card, I used the fun glitter splatter technique invented years ago by Rahel Menig.

The treat package took me a while to figure out. Finally, I decided on a simple pizza box style wrapped with tissue paper and seam-binding. I punched the eyes from white paper and added black round puffy stickers. The bulb style safety pin makes a great nose and holds it all together. I really hope Birka liked her package.

Now, I send you on your way to Birka to get some more Halloween inspiration. I myself will hop a little later since I left on jet plane a few days ago… Happy fright night, everyone! 👻

Happy Insta Girls Blog Hop - Easter Edition

Hi and welcome to our Happy Insta Girls blog hop! For this new round, we each made an Easter card and some kind of treat packaging to send to one random participant as a surprise. I was lucky to have received a beautiful box of surprise mail by Biggi alias @mimizitrone. Not only did Biggi make a cute bunny card, I also got lucky to open two lovely treat boxes, one with a Tombow brush pen and the other filled with yummy chocolate. How cute is the idea to die-cut a peek-a-boo window into the pillow box packaging? Thanks so much!! :)

I myself had the chance to surprise Jeanin, her Instagram handle is @some_bits_and_pieces. I really loved that I was drawn to send her a card and treat b/c in last year's Easter blog hop, I got a ginormous, super cute package from her - thanks again :)

Your next stop is Jeanin where you'll get to see what's inside that decorated egg carton and, moreover, to find out what she herself thought up to surprise Jessa. Thank you for hopping by and Happy Easter, everyone!

Happy Insta Girls: Christmas Hop

Hey hey, anyone looking for Christmas card inspiration? Well, there's not really actually one in this post. Ha! But, let's take it from the top just in case you don't know what this Happy Insta Girls Blog Hop is all about. We're a group of girls (obvs!), all card makers, who met through Instagram. Now, social media is all fun and games but why not share your cards in real life with people appreciating your crafts? So, every once in a while we pick a theme and send each other cards, then share them in a blog hop. This November the theme naturally was Christmas.

Except, it looks like neither Nicole nor I did feel ready for full blown Holiday cards four weeks ago. Nonetheless, how super cute is that squirrel card she sent me?!! Her clean and simple approach was right up my alley. The photos below don't do justice to all of the details and beautiful shading on the die-cut. Also, her sentiment was just what I wanted to hear on the day her card hit my mailbox on a dull Friday afternoon. It felt like the perfect excuse to curl up with cup of coffee and relax for a bit. Thanks so much for your lovely card, Nicole!! :*)

Now, I told you, I didn't fully buy into the Christmas theme as well. I recently got a new winter stamp set from Dani Peuss Klartext line which I wanted to ink up and then there was this leftover piece of pattern paper from Studio Calico's older Winter Wonderland collection - it all came together fairly quickly from there. Too bad though that all the sparkle from the Wink of Stella marker doesn't show up in the images. It looked like the elk's scarf fell into a fairy's glitter pot :)

Thanks for hopping by! Your next stop is Katrin who got (and hopefully liked) my wintery elk card. Can't wait to see what everyone prepared for today :)
